I have a 1999 C250 TD Sport (W202). How do I find out what the factory spec CO2 emissions are for this model? The information is not on the reg cert.
Thanks
Sean
I don't think manufactures published this data before 2001, when vehicle taxation became based on CO2 data. If you're desperate, then find the stated fuel consumption for your car, (presumably on the urban cycle, which was published for all cars by 1999) and then find a new car with the same consumption data. I believe that CO2 is directly related to fuel consumption so the CO2 you require should be the same as the newer car.
Anyone (eg fuel technologists) like to correct my assumption?
If you're just trying to work out your future Road Tax Sean, then I think you'll be a flat £200 (you're over 1600cc or whatever the pre 2001 break point is).
sean im in the same boat, were are asking as in ireland they are changing the tax system to co2 emmisions and they say that all will go up rather then down
i would love to know what a c 180 w202 year 1994 will be to tax in euro
we dont know but they are keeping their cards close to your chest
thay are saying that they will all go up and the car companys are wipping us at the moment saying we will sell you a new car and give one years road tax ect as a sweatner
but the thing the govement knows is that some people love their old cars and have found another way to rob people of their money besides road tax , petrol costs and
the vat and tax we pay on cars is huge in ireland .
like base model c class merc 08 is 46 thousand ide love to know what it is in england
