Hi
Week ago in my car fuel pipe under bonnet has been broken and fuel lade out over all engine so I replaced this pipe in MB service and cleaned whole engine. A few days ago (little later after fuel problems) I've repaired turbo actuator in my MB because car wasn't riding as well - had low power and poor acceleration and engine was working in safe mode (only under 2000rpm and max speed was 100km/h).

Currently i'm experiencing other problem - in Torque Pro ODB application I'm noticing error P2616 and car sometimes has low power and slow accelerate. Only one time car has bucked when I was trying to sharp speed up and from this time the problem doesn't come back but problems with power and acceleration are still noticeable. When I'm clearing OBD codes this one error comes back instantly after starting engine - maybe B60 sensor is in fault after fulel lade out and engine washing?

Your problem is likely your turbo actuator still.

Regardless of what people insist, I have never known an actuator replaced and not cause issues afterward. Everyone I have had dealings with ends with a new turbo.

Agree with Steve - even though I did fix my Smart by replacing the actuator (but that was a broken pipe on the plastic diaphragm cover).

I had repaired actuator a few days ago but maybe it was done not so good?

After this for a few days error wasn't appearing and today without any symptoms it came back after long route (yesterday).

Maybe turbo is dirty or something with egr - I was trying to clean them yesterday but couldn't take them from engine (but was disconnected for some time).

Like I said, I've not seen one "repaired" actuator work as it should.

Start with processing the fault codes you have and do some stepped diagnosis. Right now you are just guessing.

I had checked this issue with SD and only appearing error is the problem with B60 exhaust sensor - maybe something is damaging this sensor or it came dirty?

I'll try to dismount them today and check how it looks... And tomorrow i'll go back to my MB service.

Possibly the inlet port shut off motor draining power away from the turbo/back pressure sensor, wiring is all on the same circuit.

But what can be a reason of this and why i've no other errors?

Inlet port shut off motors open the swirl flaps on the manifold which are effected by EGR liquid film dropping onto it from the air tract turbo seal.

The IPS motor shares the same live and earth as the turbo, EBS, and PAS rack sensor. When on throttle the IPS motor can draw excess current away from the turbo and EBS and not flag a fault code. However the turbo will jam or the EBS will flag a fault leading you on a completely different diagnostic path.

So I should leave the car for better diagnosis in MB service? Maybe I should clean up EGR?

Why do you want to go after the EGR? The EGR is electronic, it has an open and close position and cannot jam part way. If it fails to work, the ECU will see there is an issue at the EGR itself and then you can test its operation with the STAR machine.

You have either fitted a dodgy sensor or you have some other fault, its hard for me to advise without seeing the car but I work on a lot of these cars and I know what usually fails and how.

Did anyone get to the bottom of this problem? I have read numerous solutions such as changing turbo, changing actuator only, boost leaks.. etc

I get this bucking on full power sometimes also, throws no eml or codes apart from 2616-2

Thanks

Depends what is causing it and it could be any of those you have listed - you need to delve deeper with live data to know for sure

@dannyfiveforty If it is an OM642 then mine showed the same symptoms when hot. Cleaned the actuator (gear wheels/re-lube) and that stopped it happening. Changed it later (130K miles) for a refurb and it gave the engine a whole new lease of life. Money well spent at £100 for a refurb unit with 2 years warranty.

The risk is if it is not that then you have wasted £100. I took the risk.

Thanks, yes I am thinking of doing this before replacing whole turbo, matching turbo part number up with new solenoid and going from there. Thanks
