Hi
I wonder if anyone could point me in the right direction on a cold start problem I have on my 93 220E (non cat).

The car starts fine but idles erratically then stalls when I put it in gear, reverse or D. The car is fine when its warm but a real pain until then.

I am assuming the cold start mechanism is not working. I do depress the pedal to the floor before starting as the manual instructs.

Where could I start in finding the problem?

Thx in advance.

This is a guess based on different engine -

Proberly the water temp sensor which is a swtich/probe in the cylinder head, it feeds into to the ECU which enriches the fuel mix until warmed up. If its broke then the fueling will be too lean on cold start. Is it only on a cold engine rather than a tepid one (ie after a hour)?.

Mike.
