Ive got a problem with my c270 cdi merc. Its been starting first time all throughout the summer. Soon as it starts to get colder i go to start it and it cranks over and dies. Then after it takes about 5 mins to get it started. When its warm again it starts first time again. Ive changed the glow plugs and had it put on the computer but it shows no error codes. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked the fuel pressure and the oil pressure this engine will not start if there is no oil pressure

It is probably an injector problem.

Get a "leak off" test done.

Hi.

Air leak on one of the fuel pipes around the under bonnet fuel filter ? . usual symptoms are engine starts, runs for 1 sec then stops, takes ages to restart, OK for the day. Some people have got away with replacing the O rings but the pipes often split when you move them. I replaced all 4, about £70 from dealer. Watch the pipes that go round the front of the engine, make sure they dont hit the serpentine belt !
