This is going to be an enjoyable thread.
I love seeing cars brought back to top condition.

Enjoyed doing the 190 and might still finish it yet, think this one I might go one step better tho, it is a far better car to start with........

Hamble, so yes............

Oh, was referencing the half a tree in every gap bit, what I used to find in every gap every morning when I lived in leafy Hedge End.

The trees won, and the honeydew and the insects .. drove me mad, we moved :)

No probs, for shame, it's been clonking for a couple of weeks, a bit of reassurance that it won't let go like yours did will suffice :)

If you have some where to keep the cars in the dry, will be better than money in the bank. Hope this helps

That does look lovely Cole. Can't wait for you to show working your magic on it.
A colleague of mine in a previous job had a silver one and he loved it. It's a car that's grown on me with time and one I can see an example of ending up on the drive one day.

For moss removal a Milton's solution also works - especially if you have moss in the washer bottle!

I can remember back to 2008 when I first met Colin. He wanted one back then, either the estate or the coupe. Well done Colin on everything.

Looks special Colin. You do like a challenge don't you?
I'm certain this will go better than the 190 did for you...:):D

Just insured it on a classic policy, no claims to add because thats on the 190, comes out fully comp with the normal bits at £177, happy days.......

That is a good price as road traffic act is around that figure.

I don't suppose you know of a poverty spec w124 mk1 pre SACCO panels in good nick and very cheap, have a hankering of a mk1 again and don't mind 4pot engines. i love the dated interiors you get on early 124's , bottle green, brown etc.

i know the later ones are going up quickly but was hoping an early one with a dark green or blue interior wasn't on the radar for many 124 collectors

Well drove it home today as the golf has been sold and freed up the garage, gave it a good hand wash after a go over with the clay bar.........

Couple of bits turned up today for it, the main air intake pipe which was taped up......

Fitted

The new inner and outer seal turned up for the aerial as there was a new bosch one in the boot but not fitted.....

Gave the inside a hover out but feel a removal of carpets and shampoo would bring then back better, cant believe this thing is 26 years old and looks like this still inside.....

Happy all round with this thing, just seems to keep impressing me,

More to follow......

that car looks familiar, for some reason. cant quite work out why. it does look like a gem of a buy, considering its age
