So got a couple of bits done, she thought i didnt have enough to do so its been braking itself as i have been trying to fix it, when i first got it, it had no gas in the AC, gassed it and all been fine till coming back from last GTG, lost all the gas and compressor started to rumble, i was only a few miles from home so didnt worry about it, got nice new compressor sent over from germany....

Once the old one was off, you could see where the oil and dye was coming out the front seal......well you can with the proper glasses on......

That was the easy bit, had it fitted and plumbing done with in 30min, went to adjust belt back up and the long adjuster nut spun on the rod, thread gone, still cant get head around how that happened but it did, parts ordered from germany and lots of work to replace said rod, anyway, got the belt on enough to get it 2 miles home, waiting for parts now, AC was nice and cold tho........

The fuel gauge has always played up since i have known the car, nicked a cluster out of a parts car today, fitted tonight and now showing 1/3 of a tank and not 3/4......Result!!!!!!!

Rear window motor drivers side has never worked either, nicked a motor out of the parts car and bought that home as well, well, might have made a slight hick up there, trying to get motor back into gearbox is one hell of a pig, should have swapped whole cassette, gonna have to take box apart now and try to refit motor.......

Last thing is she has lost the H plate

    More when parts arrive.....

I cannot repair a thing right now:(:( it will keep.

So the gauge can be calibrated very easily, just put a known quantity of fuel in and calibrate that pot for a reading.

So got some time in today on the bitch, started by replacing the stripped adjuster rod and nut

Surprised how cheap it was from merc,

The seat adjuster buttons had the headrest button missing so swapped that with another, The leg of the old button is snapped of in the switch

    New one fitted

The rear window has never worked since i have known the car, i took motor out of the parts car and had to strip the gearbox of the regulator to refit it, gave it a good grease up while i was there....

The nearside headlight has a hole in it prob due to a stone.

    Swapped out

First time iv ever seen it with all windows down.

But is that not the best way to have it, it makes it usable with no heart ache, and looks a few 1000$

looks great and you are doing a lovely job, how much was the stripped adjuster rod and nut as a matter of interest, and is that for adjusting the alternator

    Not been a good day....

Bought some new front brakes from MB, had to come from germany, no stock in UK, Fitted them today, it was a fight from start to finish, got them apart ok but there has been so much rust build up, getting them clean enough to get the pads back in was a job and half, filed for hours to get the channels clean,

    That was the first fight......

Thought while i had it in the air i would clean the rear brakes up, they do make some noise at times, found patten parts fitted, no grease used, had to hammer the pads out, tried pushing the pistons back to find them all seized, two new calipers ordered.........pins and anti rattle kit also needed due to rust, need to change rear disks and pads as well due to poor state of them.

Thinking that was enough for one day, i moved car and heard a belt noise on full lock, lifted bonnet and found belt loose, looks like adjuster has spilt in the center, so car left at work and brought a loan car home, not happy day......
