Well, as some of you would no, i have been doing a 190E project due to losing the 124 i was after, well now i have said 124 so 190 on hold for the time being.

So, here is said 124 complete with moss and half a tree in every gap poss.......

So a couple of years sat around with the odd trip to us to charge the battery and kick the tyres,

The trim hasnt worn badly at all......

And one of the best things about a 124....

So first thing was a new battery as that was stuffed and charge the A/C,

Vac held for 20 min and once charged works really well, pressures were nice and soon had ice cold air, they were good on these old girls.......

Couple of bits ordered already, Large air intake tube below, cant have tape round it like that.........

Quick wash of with steam cleaner on outside ramp with lots of TFR........

That grill is gonna be the first thing to go in the bin, got a good 2nd hand one on route......

Couldnt be more happy under the car, once washed of with a heavy coat of TFR, its back to its grey under sealant....

So thats the start, i will be keeping this one so it wont be as full on as the 190 at first, will be doing this one a bit at a time and getting more done in the winter months.......

Look very nice, its lovely.

Do not forget a little vinegar in a bowl and a paint brush will dissolve the moss and it will run away. 6% proof best. I do my rubbers on one side that never sees the sun.

My 2002 SL had been steamed cleaned and it did not do it much good, I had battles when I first bought it to protect it again. It puts water where water normally never gets.

Reminds me of my E320 coupe, metallic black with mushroom leather interior, complete with sportline option.

I do regret selling that car :(

Maybe something the same would suit me later on, again a nice sober colour combination, I have always said on here that my 300TE was the nicest car that I have had.

Do I spot a 5 speed auto box? Doesn't seem to be very common on 124s

Really handsome cars, I was very tempted by a CE320, love the monoblocks and dark coach work.

Never tried it as I can never find it, but I'm told that White Wine Vinegar is good to use as a weedkiller.

I'm led to believe that Netto (in France) do a 5 litre container at a very reasonable price but, as the only Netto we ever see there is at St Pol de Leon, about ten minutes after getting off the Plymouth/Roscoff night ferry, the inclination to shop there is somewhat of a low priority.;)

Reading elsewhere, and with the price of weedkillers being so high, and with their effectiveness being reduced, people with gravel paths/drives, are getting satisfactory results with Rock Salt distributed by way of a Lawn Spreader.

Obviously, with such, the effects of 'run off' have to be borne in mind.

You can buy 30% proof from industrial chemist, dead cheap, its just acetic acid, but you must water it down, its nature friendly.

Sorry Cole on your thread.

This is going to be an enjoyable thread.
I love seeing cars brought back to top condition.
