I have a slight issue with the COMAND on my car (W220 facelift). Every now and then when I start the car, COMAND doesn't start straight away, but instead takes a couple of minutes before it comes on. On other occasions it does start, but displays "Sound Unavailable". Pressing OK dismisses the message, but it appears again a few seconds later. After a few minutes, it will go away, and start playing music again and be fine for the rest of the journey.

The occurences appear pretty unpredicable and irregular. It has happened a couple of days in a row on one occasion, but is no more that once a month in general I don't think.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Should I worry about this? Is it a sign of impending failure (expense)?

Cheers,
Bill

This is clearly a case of "Womanitous" you say it happens about once a month ............. and that the issue is slight .......and also that it's every now and again

You also say it dismisses messages

Yep !! ..... Womenitous"

The fault could go away as easy as it came, mine has done it twice, as have one or two others, and the fault goes away, it could be just a poor connection or bad joint, but they are not easy to fix,,give it a bit more time and see how it goes. give the dash a thump and see if it comes on, thats what I do
