Comand screen no phone buttons or menu

I have just bought a W221 2007 S63L AMG, what fun it is when it howls!!!!!
It has all the physical buttons for the phone but there are no menu buttons or options on the comand screen.
Can any one help?

2007 will most likely require some form of cradle or bluetooth adaptor (my 56 plate W211 did) - what have you got in your centre armrest?

….. if the cover lifts and it has some buttons for a phone system, wiring should be in the car.... under the centre console lid you ought to have a UHI socket

you might find a menu for Bluetooth but its NOT for connecting a mobile, so ignore it,
if it has no socket then the lid and the buttons may have been taken from a different car

check if it had a system using a chassis number decode tool

if you have the socket, but nothing plugged in then, u need some system for a clip in phone or one of the BT gadgets you can find out there (search other posts)

if its all there, is there sound & radio frequencies on the display... if not the tuner / amp in the boot is dead (very common)

the one UK base model I saw had a completely locked closed keypad it could NOT be opened and there shouldn't be any phone menus

either someone added bits trying to get the feature or there's a bit in the centre console you're missing

check what it came with using chassis number check and or post a photo of the open centre console you get a list like this

I don't believe it would not have had a phone system... as in you aren't looking for the right bit and or hard enough, its small if nothing plugged in maybe 25 x 30mm and might have a small cover

I wonder if you could have only rear system (doubt it) on mine that option is why it has a Bluetooth connection.... you can try to connect a phone to it but it doesn't bring the speakers in to play but it does the Mic !!! so you can see it ring and can answer, but hear nothing whilst they hear you

I always find it staggering that someone ordered a car such as this and didn't tick the 'Phone pre wire option' (388/386) at £300. Its around £2,000 to retrofit the option as there are many many parts required.

I downloaded the VIN list and no phone option listed, but it does have the TV, quite bizarre really.
As to retrofit Comand Online quoted me £2500, I think the bluetooth headset will have to suffice.
But the engine is so god to listen to I can always turn off my phone.

You're going to have to accept some very dated technology I'm afraid. My former ML63 (2007) caused the same issue and the "half-way house" solution is a Viseeo MB-4. It clips into the cradle in the upper arm rest.

Strongly recommend eBay as full price retail is madness.
However, this is not going to let you stream/play music from your phone onto the Comand system. Nor (in spite of its claims) will it reliably store your phone book contacts if quite large (mine is over 1,000 and the unit just "hangs" after 20 minutes.

It is simply a way for your bluetooth enabled smartphone to use the Viseeo as a bluetooth connection to the Comand phone.

It won't (I think) for instance stream map directions from your phone to your speakers.
I'm fairly certain I couldn't get it to make hands-free call dialling - but not sure

He doesnt have the UHI phone connection point so the viseeo wont work for him.

Also, viseeo MB-4 and MB3 products are not available new anymore. they went out of production about two years ago. some may have old stock laying around.

the MB-4 isnt as good as the Mercedes HFP either. For earlier D2B cars (pre 2005) the Viseeo MB-2 (if you can find one) is the better cradle.

There are some strange first owners of S Classes... The 2006 LWB I had, came with rear entertainment, but no TV tuner. Managed to get one off ebay in Germany that came with all the components inc. the rear screen aerial but it took a good day to fit... seats out and everything.....It also had the buttons on the mirror to open garage doors... but who on earth has a garage long enough to fit a LWB S Class in???

with a couple of essential toys (not TV) they were are well over 110k new in 2006 add the creaky roof and ABC they were over 127k GBP
