Hi Malcolm, I believe it is the D2B wake up distributor and it operates telephone, bose amp and other peripherals. The wires from the comand are blue black with a plug on the end.
Thanks again, Paul.

That's ok, let me have the VIN number, and I should be able to tell you where it is.

W203's do not require a separate speed signal. The speed signal is sent over the CANBUS wires. There is no need to route around in the sill looking for it! The D2B fibre cables should be orange with the power/wake up cables being Red/Black, Brown and Blue/Black. that is if you have a CD changer/Bose etc.

If you dont have a phone/CD changer or Bose then I wouldnt worry about it. If you have Bose then you wont have a B connector as the speakers are fed from the Bose amp which gets its input from the D2B.

Hi,

You only need to go to the dealer to get the instrument cluster enabled if you want to see the directions in the cluster as well as on the COMAND screen, otherwise you dont need to go!

Remember to calibrate your comand in the NAVI -> Settings screen.

Hi Alfie, thanks for the information, the navi disc turned up in the post this morning so i will calibrate it when I get home. I will probably get the dealer to activate the dash display as well.
Thanks again, Paul.

Hi Alfie, me again! Just to clarify your comments re D2B, this is what the instructions say about it
"I suggest that you start with the new C (203) / new CLK (209) loom (correct version for whether your car is left or right-hand-drive), and install that alongside the existing loom. The D2B wakeup (blue/black) interconnect will be in one of the wiring ducts by the front door sill (normally found by removing the door sill), and the CAN distributor in the same duct but in the foot-well. If you have a CD Changer in the trunk/boot, you will have some splicing to do as the CD power lead only reaches the glove-box. If not, put your CD changer in the glove-box."
are you saying I do not need to connect the D2B wakeup distributor as mentioned above?
Thanks, Paul.

You shouldnt need to touch the D2B at all.

Just plug everything in, including the CD changer fibre optic if you have it. If you have a phone and/or Bose then the COMAND should spot you have it without any coding at all.

I've installed many many 203 comands and the only things you need to be sure of in the absence of any fibre components is that you hook up the canbus wires properly.

I'm assuming you have a proper A203 comand and NOT and A463 model!

Hi Alfie, thanks for the info. Everything up and running, just had it cinfigured to show nav display in dash. Running as if the manufacturer had fitted it. Maybe do the TV tuner next.
Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

Paul.

I personally wouldnt bother with Tv as its a big job and costly. A cheaper route would be digital TV via a multimedia adapter. still means your comand coming out again to fit it all though.

Glad its all working for you.
