Command 2.0 wiring issue

I have a 2000 CLK 230 Komp with a single DIN CD player fitter - standard ISO connection x 2 and a 3rd which is the CANbus control. Have now bought a MERC original Command 2.0 Unit (A208 820 40 89), its got the standard ISO connections for Power and speakers but has a different connection format for the CANbus ie 18 pin (2 rows of 9) also a much smaller 6pin connector? I'll be fitting over the weekend so I don't expect any problems with the sound system but using the steering wheel controls will be side-lined until I can get hold of a cable adaptor harness to match connections of the CANbus so any suggestions would be greatfully accepted. Note: I'll sort the SATNAV/GPS side out later, have identified GPS aerial but would like a combined GPS/FM unit so again any suggestions, thanks in-advance

now have silly issue's

Now my comand dx goes off when the ignition is turned off but not when I return to the car ? I have to push a button to bring it out of hibernation / screen save! is this normal?

Yes that is correct, but there are several versions of the DX the very first mod came in 07-02 when the set up was changed to over come this. I think that there is a time out point for it to shut down altogether, if the "go to sleep" has kicked in,then you have to start it up again, for a short break say filling up etc this should not happen
