Hi everyone

I'm new here and to Mercedes.

I have recently purchased a 61 plate M Class Grand Edition and absolutely love it. I have only one issue which is with the Bluetooth.

What happens is that the phone connects fine, contacts are downloaded fine, basically everything works but here is the problem....

Sometimes when I am on the phone it just cuts the microphone, as if I've muted the call. I can still hear the other person perfectly but they can't hear me. Once this has happened its impossible to get it back working again even if I end the call and make another one it's still the same. If I switch the car off and back on a again it will work again.

Here is the weird thing , there is no rhyme or reason to this I can make 10 calls and it be fine then it will switch itself off or I can make 1 call and it won't work. I can be on the call for 10-15 minutes and it be fine or I can be on for 10 secs and it will go faulty.

I have taken it back to Mercedes and they have run some tests but they say it's an iPhone issue not a command issue.

I have updated my phone to the latest software.

Can someone help pleeeeeeeeeeeassse!!!

Well its either the phone or the car. I guess you need to try another phone for a while and see if it still happens. If it does you know the problem lies with the car, maybe a faulty microphone.

Well there is a little bit more info on this now. I got my hands on another phone (an old school Nokia) and guess what? The same thing happened!!! Which means there is definately something wrong with the car. It's booked in at Mercedes on Thursday so I'll keep you all posted on the results.

Well I finally got the car back after being in Mercedes Hull for 2 days and guess what?its fixed!! Apparently a faulty microphone in the rear view mirror was the problem. A new mirror has been fitted and seems to have done the trick.

On a separate note the customer service at the Hull branch was fantastic.

Just to give you a further update on this, the microphone turned out not to be the cause it was in fact a faulty command unit! Mb replaced the full unit and I have now been driving round for over a month with no issues:D
