Hello,
Another thread regarding a wrong gps location.
This time not sure if it's the antenna because I have already swapped the antenna twice with aftermarket from ebay/amazon that have also confirmed to work for other similar models.
My story is a 2006 cls with command ntg1.
Last summer car went to specialist for a check and some fluid changes (brakes, diff and gearbox) before my Europe trip. At the time, the main battery was also replaced with a merc genuine one from the specialist. Till that morning the maps and location was working brilliantly.
In the afternoon I left from the specialist without checking the maps or navi.
Next day I loaded the car and hit the road. Before start driving and before checking my navi I decided to update the dvd maps disk with a v19 that had purchased days ago (car had dvd maps from 2005).
It was 5 in the morning, I was happy that I was starting my road trip and hit the roads while I was waiting for dvd maps to load. From that moment I lost my GPS location (again to mention that hadn't checked if location was working when leaving specialist the day before with the new battery installed).
My location was stuck between south Netherlands and north Belgium for months while I was in South Europe and till I came back. After re-entering UK it now says that I am in Northern France (not Belgium anymore) while I am located in Hertfordshire.
I have swapped twice antennas. Driven with them on the roof or the bootlid for miles and miles. Nothing changed.
I am considering a faulty antenna (Fakra) pin on the actual navigation drive that my had gone blown from the battery swap but this is just a thought. I have also removed the power cables and have disconnected the battery too for hrs just in case it could reset the navi drive. No joy unfortunately.
Any ideas welcome. Thanks.
