command unit

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to reset the sat nav side of the command unit on my 02 W220 S600L.??
When any sat nav disc is inserted it still asks you to insert a dx type disc which is what i have tried 2 of.Everything else works on the unit ,TV,RADIO,PHONE ETC
Or is this something that can only be done at main dealer??

It could be the laser pick up gone down, there are firms that fix them

The same thing has happened to me a couple of times when changing discs in my 04 CLK.
On each occasion I left the disc in and it always 'came good' after driving for a short while.

Had similar problem in the past. Got a lens cleaner CD from Tescos for £5.00 and resolved the issue.

Ok thanks all,
tried cd cleaner & still the same the n did exactly what benzman said he did & it just initialized & started up,phew at least i know its not the unit now.
