compatible panoramic roof?

Hi all,just joined and have a question! I own a 1990 SL300 R129 and intend buying a panoramic roof from ebay that is off a 1994 model R129.Will this fit my own car? Also, if anyone can give me an accurate weight for the roof and dimensions (for shipping purposes) I would be very grateful.

Regards the roof. As far as I know, The R129 roof system has never changed

The pano roof was not offered until 1998-9 I believe...

It will fit _BUT_ there is an alignment procedure for these when the roof is married to the car on day one your car will be set up for your roof and might need some adjustments made

Many thanks for your prompt reply folks. Can anyone give me a rough guide to the value of a used panoramic roof in good condition? I do feel it makes the cars lines more attractive, maybe also add to the value of my car? :|

How long is a piece of string.

If you were to buy from MB, They get the shell, paint and trim= about 10k, last I heard.
On Ebay, em, a grand to 1500.

Regards value to your vehicle, will certainly make it more desireble over an exact same one without and easier to sell. IE its a good extra. But as the model gets older, it does not make as much difference as when it was a year or two old.

PS: Theres a guy on Ebay selling a metal one along with a glass one at the momment. Don't know if he'll split though.
