Wow, that's quite a few.

I'm glad I don't live in Bournemouth anymore, I was filling up at Tesco in branksome as they were always the cheapest...

How's process of the car Omni? :?

funny you should ask, I'm actually on the pone to Tesco as I type. They sent me through a very nice letter this morning about the whole deal and a link to a claims form. I've filled that out and I am waiting for TP to e-mail me through the quote for the work so I can include that when I send it off.

btw, the Tesco at MB World is called Brooklands Extra (it appears on the list), just in case it shows up on anyone's credit card statement.

Still not heard a dickybird from TP on the ETA on the parts though. Tried all day yesterday and no return call.

Quite a few people in the North East 'claimed' that they had bought contaminated petrol up here, is this dishonesty on their part or Tesco. I think Tesco would now know the extent of the problem and are a big company. Having said that I have had attempts by them to buy some land from me and found them to be bums to deal with.

they're a big business so I doubt they are great to deal with. However, I think if they get this wrong it could lead to some very big legal issues and some very bad publicity for them (and, I suspect a C4 documentary). Lets see how they respond to my bill.

I am sure you are right Neil and I suppose I was dealing with their agents (fee earning) mainly. With supermarket locations being so sensitive and wanting secrecy from their competitors there is bound to be a bit of underhand tactics used. In the end I got better offer from a completely different purchaser who wanted to pay rather than place options etc. I know this is nothing to do with petrol but does show that all companies have to have a ruthless streak. I expect Tesco will be honourable, I presume the situation will be covered by their insurance.

At least they haven't told you to jog on. It could be worse ;) Just a pain in the backside having to get it all repaired.

Personally I think Tescos are trying to put the small people out of business, and take over the world!

I love a local newsagent, with random chocs in and sweets, not some big store with someone behind the checkout who resembles vicky pollard...

I don't want to be a Florence and Fred woman!!

actually that's just as much Mr Blairs fault. We have a village shop (only 1) that sounds a bit like yours. It's also the post office, and there's the problem. The post office support the shop, without it there is no doubt it will close. Mr Blair in his infinate wisdome wants to shut down village post offices so we will have no choice other than Tesco.

I don't have a shop in my village.

:(

I don't have a post office in my village.. lol.

I have sheep hehe.

I travel about 2 miles out. Which is a pain for posting, if I do a big shop I travel about 10 miles into Yeovil (hate Yeovil with a passion). If they close my local post office, I feel they're closing part of the village culture, I mean, it's nice to go into your local post office and know who's who, I like that. Not go into a town post office and have to speak to a girl who likes about 16 with a piece of gum stuck between her teeth.

Who needs a shop or post office if you have sheep!
I think Tesco need restraining. One of the things which annoyed me was that they approached in many guises. Hidden as part of schemes to build new schools, information centres, low cost houses anything but a supermarket. In this area they also had an agreement with one of the biggest national house builders, so what was not to be a hypermarket would become houses. It felt good to fight back but as my sale was to the local nobility they will probably deal with Tesco and Persimmon but at least we got the dough and don't have to deal direct with these pratts.

Has anyone else noticed their local Jet filling station suddenly turning into a Somerfield station overnight? We have filled up at Jet for years and last night when we filled up on the way home from late night shopping all the Jet signs had been replaced with Somerfield ones. I didn't know Somerfield even sold petrol or maybe this is something new? Does this now mean we filled up with supermarket petrol!!!!!! I think we'll start going to Tesco express as their filling station is Esso.

sommerfield were one of the big 3 affected by the fuel contamination (the others being Asda and Tesco). I did say I filled up at a Jet station, maybe it was actually a sommerfield and they hadn't changed the sign yet

Hannah ever thought of getting your goods into the Tesco stores, just in case they take over completely? ( you may already be a Tesco supplier)

I'm more of a Asda girl :lol::p

I'm still building up my soap business, but maybe one day, I'll take over Tesco with A Little Touch Of Magic, and it will be my world, mwahahahahah

Don't like the Asda adverts though, too much fat arse smacking.

I might be dead by the time my company has taken over, I'll leave it to the offspring if I manage to have any :)
