Television,

I see that you have upgraded your car's tv to digital using a small Bush scart freeview unit.

I would be really interested in knowing how you did this. Could you run through the stages for me please?

I have got a C32 AMG Estate. Do you have any idea where the analogue tuner would be?

Thanks for your help. It is appreciated.

I have printed off the retro fit for the TV tuner as you can see where every thing is, take a read to find where the things are.

Thanks Television, just received the email.

I've got an estate version, will the components be in the same place as the saloon version?

Hi Malcolm,

At long last I have found the TV tuner in my car. It is beneath a Bose bass speaker so it is not that easy to get to.

Do you have a DIY write up I could follow?

I cannot see where the Aux inputs are. Any ideas?

Also I have a 12v socket in the boot area as my car is an estate. Presumably I can tap into this for the power.

Thanks for your help.

There should be 2 RCA sockets on the rear of the tuner, and you need to be able to switch to the AV1 and 2 from the TV menu, best to make sure that you have those

I definitely have AV1 and AV2 on the screen.

The sockets are probably just out of sight.

Would it be ok to use the power supply to the 12v socket in the boot in your opinion?

If it switches off with the car locked then fine and you can use it, if not the cigar lighter in the cab, front or rear

Malcolm,

I have managed to remove the Tv tuner to have a good look at it and I can't see any RCA sockets.

The only connections are on the top of the tuner as per the attached picture.

The only connections that are in use are the top left one for power and the largest of the middle bank of connections which sends the signal to the Comand unit.

Could it be that I need a specific multi-pin plug from MB to fit additional AV equipment?

I think your tuner is the same one as I have in the garage. It is from a pre facelift S Class (and maybe others) and needs a seperate lead to access the AV.

I am pretty sure this lead I have is wired to provide AV Out as it was used to put the display onto additional screens in a 2002 S Class. I don't see why it can't have the pins moved to the correct positions to provide an AV input. This is the wiring pinouts for your TV Tuner

I do indeed like my Corsairs....I currently have 3 of them. One a daily driver, one being rebuilt and one as a spares cars.

I have my own Corsair forum at www.fordcorsair.co.uk pop in and have a look round!!
