Converting V- class suspension

Does anyone know if it's just a case of fitting Vito suspension struts?

hi ive just converted my 1999 2.2 v class to springs got the kit from local mb parts dept in cardiff and then got local garage to fit them parts cost £190 and fitting cost £58 and that inclued changing the pollen filter as well return post if you want any more info

hi here`s the tel no for sg mercedes in cardiff(02920542400)ask to speak to clive in the parts dept tell him that you want to convert your v-class to vito springs then he can look up my order (mr Thomas)then tell you what you need i think it is only
2 springs
2 shocks
4 shim plates
spacers
bolts
nut &screws
hope this helps changed mine a month ago the car drives fine if anything it drives better than before and without the worry local garage took less than 2hrs said it was a straight forward job let me know how you get on.

V Class Suspension

Yes mine is now playing up, Has anyone else carried out this mod?, how easy/difficult is it

No- Have not dared to even look at it yet!

it`s 5 months and 2500 miles since i changed to springs and i`ve not had any problems

I changed to springs, too.

Anyway, the thing is gone for good.

I'd never have another Merc in a gift...

Changing the rear air suspension to springs is a very simple job. It took me 1 hour in total.
Remove 2 fuses for suspension.
Disconnect the air pipes going to airbags.
Remove airbags.
Remove shockers. (if not a high mileage shockers can be re-used)
Bolt on new spacers, place new springs on with spacers, replace shockers.
Remove bulb from dashboard.
Finished....
