Coolant leaking please help

Hi everyone, i get a problem this week with my coolant system in W204 C200 CDI, i dont know from where it goes but its a lot of coolant. It comes somewhere between alt and water pump but i think its not the water pump.

I would be thankful for any help. Thank you.

The back housing that the water pump is bolted into is made of plastic, and common for distortion. It’s pretty likely that the leak is coming from back there. If you buy a pump from Mercedes it comes complete with a new back housing. This is the route I always take. If you go aftermarket you only get the front bit. If I had a pound for every new pump I’ve seen bolted to a leaking back housing I’d have……… about eighteen quid.

on the first is water pump with plastic background and the second is metal background (it should have longer lifetime right?).

The all metal unit supercedes the all plastic unit. Mercedes now only supply the all metal one. Avoid the all plastic item

You can buy the pump seperately like this, but the back housing is usually knackered as well. Buying just this is a waste of time unless the back housing is already a metal one.
