My E300TD 1994 has started to loose coolant,I was very concerned as I could see no sign of an external leak, it is however now getting worse and the water drips from the bellhousing area of the engine, on looking from underneath I can trace it up as far as o/s/r of cylinder head just behind the exaust manifold, then the engine is too tight against the bulkhead for any further view.
I suspect it may be a heater hose leaking, from a quick look the ones that warm the w/screen washer water from the valve near the fuse box seem to disapear towards the centre of the car.
If this is the problem, has anyone replaced these hoses,? as at first glance it seems like it will be very difficult.

Always hard Peter to find water leaks as the engine fan blows it everywhere.

You can get dye's now that you put into the water and just start the car up and you can see the leak. If this is a common fault someone will come on and answer.

Still looking for advice does anyone know if the heater hoses in question can be replaced without removing the dashboard to access heater ??
