Coolant system bleeding C180 1994 1.8

A future 'How to'

I have the day off today so im going to put something back into the forum! If someone can give me the correct instructions for empting refilling and bleeding the coolant system on a 1994 C180 1.8 petrol elegance il take some pictures and do a write up. Worthy of sticky!

I have done this before , a while ago mind you, not very difficult at all, all you do is undo the screw in type nut at the bottom of rad, i think its red, let it all drain out.
then fill up with the mixed wated and coolant.
always be sure to check after your first run as the water will need topping up.

I was thinking there maybe some coolant left in because of the thermostat. I wanted to do and detail a full coolant change.

erm so how does this remove the coolant around the engine,

Thanks Mioba, I read the article and used half there way half mine. Ive taken pictures so hopefully tonite il do a write up. Now onto the idle control valve!

I was just wndering, are there any preffered anti freezing liquid or the ones at halford equally good for any sort of engine ?!

It's covered in the Haynes manual.To get it all out you need to remove the drain plug in the engine block and back flush with water after removing the thermostat.
Really this is something to do on a nice hot day as it's messy !

no all he same, just use a brand.

also dont spill it everywhere, smells nice and attracts animals, and its kills them
