Colour means nothing really, changes depending on brand. I’d do a refractometer and/or hydrometer test to test strength.

When trusting this to garages over recent years they just tell me they tested it and it’s perfect. Saves work and money I guess.

So as above, have it tested or, the good old motto, if in doubt, change it.

MB coolant (assuming its still MB coolant in there) is good for 15 years.
If doing a full change a good flush with water and coolant system cleaner (Holts do a good one).

I would have thought you of all people would be doing that every 5 years for good measure or maybe every 3. Good time to change the stat (blank it off when refilling/flushing) ensures you do a proper clean. ChrisFix on YT has some good vids on flushing the cooling system. A different car but principles are the same.

Both cars have new stats in the last year or so . I do have a 5L MB coolant in the garage but haven’t got round to doing it yet . Other house insulation and draught proofing has taken priority the last few weeks .
I knew it was 15 years for Mb coolant so figured that meant it was good for well over 15 years . Might be a job for the spring .
Ive still got the winters to fit to the E class and make a note of what spring colour and shock numbers I need whilst I’m under there :) .
Did you get your solar panel decision made yet ?

Solar panels, got 4 quotes, one ludicrous 42k, most logical are about 22k. I am waiting on another local company to cone back. Then I need to calculate if the batteries are worth it against what I can get putting power into the grid. My usage is about 15k pa. My payback will be 6 years.
