Took car for service (B5) last Wednesday. 3 Miles from indy and I get an "Check Adblue - Consult manual" message accompanied by an EML.

Car serviced and diagnosed with a faulty Downstream NOX sensor. It's booked back in for a replacement sensor and associated software update on the 15th Nov.

This morning I got the dreaded "500 miles till shutdown" warning.

Seems parts of the car can't even make it to 40,000 miles before they fail.

Just hoping when they fit the new £435 sensor and update the software it fixes the problem and doesn't just throw up the next problem (Upstream sensor or new Adblue system).

If by "software update" you mean the Diesel update (which is free) then Mercedes will replace NOx sensors that are incompatible free of charge.

If by "software update" you mean the Diesel update (which is free) then Mercedes will replace NOx sensors that are incompatible free of charge.
Hoping the software bit is just coding the new sensor to the car (as I'm being charged for it).
The new software wont work with the old sensor?
I've heard that, but I'm sure that a good indy (and these guys are well recommended on here), would know that?

hope it goes well, i just thought the newer version v3 or 4 needed the diesel update to work? are they fitting the newer updated sensor?
