I have just had my car back from MB after spending a fortune to repair it.

They have informed my that i require a news crankshaft pulley but i told them to leave it as the car would have to stay with them because i would not be able to pay to get it out. They have also informed me that i need my 02 sensors replaced and until this is done i will not pass MOT.

Please can someone let me know if this is serious or if i can replace it later in the year. Can you also let me know if these are costly job.

Thanks.

If the pulley breaks up it can be very expensive have the said why it needs replacing
the oxy snsr dosnt take long to change but with mb labour rate it may cost £180 plus

Hi,
The bottom pulley on my C43 was U/S when i bought it, and by going on what you say the reason why Is the bottom pulley is in two parts bonded tegether with rubber its known as a vibration damper and is not unknown to have to be replaced.
When was replaced as a result of a pre-purchase inspection carried out by a friend who has is own garage and he would not let me drive it till had been replaced, because of the possible damage it could cause.
