It is well within manufacturer's tolerance limits. One or two per 45,000 or so is OK, especially when he acknowledges them.

This depends on how you read the post. I see Comand 2.5, well that system is from 1999 up to 2003 roughly and the answer I gave was for that.. In all fairness I think that "true romance has got the wrong number

I am probably way off here..... but the unit that True Romance has in the car is a COMAND-APS NGT1 system, and that the DVD for it must have the full postcode feature, and thus this DVD must work in all the NGT1 systems going back to 2002?

It would be interesting to learn what version map the SLK has. This should be simple to find out with a couple of button presses. V10 should be the lastest, and with full postcode.

These cannot go back that far as the early system were CD based,,the DVD systems only came out during tha later part of 2003

Ok, sorry.... the link mentions that the NGT1 goes back to 2002 in some models. So for instance, the same V10 DVD in True's 2008 SLK looks to be the same DVD that'll work in my (soon to be) 2004 E Class COMAND-APS NGT1 system, and therefore full postcode functionality? The NGT1 system being used from 2002 in the E-class through to 2009, and including the SLK so the two should be the same.

Of course, I'm prepared to sit down and be quiet if I've got this aaaallllll wrong...
