Hi Everyone. As I have been having difficulty finding a local stockist of IPA-170 for cleaning my MAF sensor (Maplins believe it or not are all out of stock lcoal to me) I did a little further research and found this
http://www.crcindustries.com/auto/content/prod_detail.aspx?PN=05110&S=Y

It is a branded MAF Sensor cleaner.
Anybody had any dealings with it?
It does not appear to be available in EU (I have spoken to CRC/Ambersil and HellermannTytann) all have advised me to try the US branch/head office and ask for a sample to be sent over, due to their minmum order requirements I don't really have a need for several cases of the product!
Is there an identical MAF Sensor cleaner product that I have overlooked that is available off-the-shelf in the UK?
Any thoughts appreciated
Hope everyone had a great New Year.

Thanks. I will take a look.
What do you think with regards to a branded MAS cleaner? Do you think it is something different from the regular IPA cleaner?

If you click on the small link MSDS it gives the Material Safety Data Sheet listing all ingredients (in this case it looks like there are a number of alcohol compounds), the MSDS for Isoclean from RS shows just IPA.

I'm not a chemist but in my experience plain IPA is a great cleaner for electonics components, sure there will be others on here who will be able to provide more info.

Disclaimer: Never tried it on a MAF, but at the cost it might be worth a go.

I have used Lighter fuel (refinned petrol) in electronics for the last 30 years on all types of sensors and switches and carbon coated tracks, it leaves no residue behind and is kind to plastics. it will not hurt your MAF in any way
