Every so often the rear-nearside suspension creaks (I assume it is the suspension - it is more of a creak than a squeak [ I can't believe I'm writing this!!]). It creaks for a journey - as the car goes up and down over the road, until I park the car - then all is silent for the next trip and for perhaps 4 or 5 days when all of a sudden I have another creaky journey! I wondered if it had to do with hot/cold weather but I cannot see a connection there, and it will start creaking from starting off cold, so not a problem that occurs when the car has warmed up. Nothing appears to trigger it - whether speed bumps or large pot-holes, for example.

Any ideas?

Whilst writing: I have done the "lifestyle change" and moved from London to the Cotswolds - very nice too, so far! Anyone recommend an indep MB garage in my area? I think Gloucester may have a good one?? Anyone recommend the MB main dealer in Stratford on Avon?

Thanks!

As Black C55, spray the bushes with some PTFE or Silicon lubricant, if no joy it will be the ball joints

Thanks everyone. I will try Malcolm's suggestion - once I ahve googled PTFE...and silicon lubricant...oh, and bushes....!

If it is the ball joints or bushes which need replacing, can I just do the one side, or should the other rear be done as well?
