Wonder where MB figured in this?

Customer treatment, satisfaction and a vehicle's design are the major factors that affect a vehicle's desirability and pricing, according to JD Power & Associates.

The firm's customer satisfaction surveys showed the effect that customers' vehicle ratings had on sales: carmakers whose vehicles rated low had sales declining 4% on average; those rated medium had sales increase 24%; while those rated high, such as Lexus, had sales increase 44% on average.

Vehicle designs that either appealed universally to customers (for example, the Jaguar S-Type or Ford Mustang) or caused strong reactions in either direction (such as the Chrysler 300, Toyota Corolla, or the late Pontiac Aztek) sold vehicles to different audiences.

Power also found that customer satisfaction can be affected by vehicle repair services: many customers are quite happy with their vehicles (and the carmaker) if they receive good service, even with vehicles requiring high-maintenance. Unfortunately, only 15% of those surveyed agreed that they were pleased with their repair shop's service.

I've had lots of different makes of cars over the years and I have yet to find any dealership where I was really happy with either the sales or the service department.

When we went to the VW dealership on the weekend the sales guy was such an arrogant person we just walked out, I wouldn't have bought any car from there, no matter how much I liked it.

Being female I am more inclined to look at the inside of a car rather than the oustide, whereas I have noticed men seem to be more inclined toward buying a car that has 'kerb appeal'. I have to say I really cannot tell if a car has alloys or hubcabs, they all look the same to me, and does it really matter if a car has body coloured bumbers? You sit inside the car, not outside of it, so I put a/c, leather interior and a cd player before all the other stuff.

Not so sure about this powers thing, he done graded a Volvo 9 places on the grounds that it did not have a cup holder a while back
