cut out but instant recover

Yesterday moved the merc (CLK220 2006 with 182000 miles, B service in January from a good indy) from the drive to the road so I could trim the hedge. About three hours later started it to go to the shop, drove about 200 metres and it cut out but recovered in an instant, just saw a flash of the lights on the dash, got to the T juction stopped ok turned drove about 600 metres started going down a gentle hill in 30 mph zone and again cut out with instant recovery, another 50 metres and same again and no more problems after that, At no time did I have to restart the engine it just recovered and carried on. Sunny day, had not washed it, it has in the past started ok in the drive and cut out before moving but restarted ok but this was more unusual.

How long had it been sitting? Because it sounds like a weak Battery to me.....

Probably need to read codes to get a handle on what caused it. Could be many things from bad connection through to failing fuel pump or bad CPS.
