A bit simple this... perhaps.

The wood trim around the fresh air regulator slider on the dash of my 1982 280 TE has come unstuck.

I've got some 1" wide double-sided adhesive tape but I can't get the knob off the slider!

The question is, how much brute force do I apply, or is there an invisible latch?

TIA

Would it not be easier to put a little drop of superglue (using a match or something) under the offending strip? That way at least, you shouldn't have to remove the slider.

Thanks Spike, it certainly is an option, but I think it needs some gap-filling properties.

I just thought that the knob would come off somehow.
