dangerous stall

hello ,had a close call tonight ,as i turned right into my drive the car stalled whilst doing about 15 mph .
what suprised me was the steering froze up so quickly that i nearly ended up in next doors garden wall ,as it was i braked with the car in the roadway.
any ideas? ps i think i have dodgy coil pack as car stumbles on acceleration
i have changed air mass meter due to fault code.

If the car stalls the power steering will not work.

Car stalls.

Sorry if have made any mistakes on this mail as I havent quite got a grip of the system.

I have a similar intermittent problem with my C220 M reg (108k on the clock) the car stalls when running or when it is stationary hot or cold sometimes it runs for weeks without a problem.
So I thought I might cure it by having a major service at MB Epsom and asked them if they had heard of the fault before they said they hadn't but a service should cure it?
Anyway I duly paid the bill and the car felt great, really tight so I pushed it a bit and it flew and I felt the problem had been sloved.
However when I took out it last week I had gone about 1K it stalled again.
Any help would be gratefully recieved.
