Just ordered a pack of 10 dash bulbs for my car, £7.50 for ten or £0.99 each.

Per bulb from the dealer, or MB parts, they're about £3 each.

Worth knowing.

They look identical and measure perfectly, so I'll let you know if they fit when they arrive :)

All this because I replaced the single faulty bulb in the dash, only for another to fail the instant I put it all back together :|

Yes, I have one of those spare for when they go too :)

I remember Volvo trying to charge me £25 for a new switch (failed light), I broke it open, bought a new lamp from Maplin for about 6 pence, soldered it in, glued the switch back together, slotted it back into the console, good as new :)

I think i have only one bulb working in my instrument cluster. Thats the one that is lighting up the fuel gauge and the left hand of the speedometer. All the warning lights appear to be working however. I went to my local MB dealer and he didnt have any. I went to the comercial MB dealer and although he didnt stock them he was able to give me the following information

2x 001 544 5594 2W bulb
3x 002 544 3694 1.5w
2x 000 000 000977 1.3w
and an unspecified number of 000 000 000953 bulbs

That doesnt mean a whole pile to me but if the bulbs on the afore mentioned website will do what i need to do then thats what i will buy.

cheers
Dave

i replaced all the 1.2w bulbs in the dash for autobulbsdirect. However one of the bigger 2w bulbs have gone that lights uip the rev counter. Any idea where i can get some of these?

There are also lights sopposed to be lightting up the airvents. I am going to see if i can get to them now.

By the way i couldnt find a wire coathanger to make up my own cluster removal tool. So i undid the panel under the steering wheel, pulled that down and then pushed the instrument cluster out from behind. Should be interesting to see how it all goes back together!

You forgot to take into consideration sod's law ! If your gonna change one change them all, then sods law is overcome. Might take a bit longer but worth the hassle for peace of mind.

Purely on the basis that while it is out you replace them all including the large ones for the display's I did this for a guy only to find that 2 of the new ones failed within a couple of weeks :confused:

The dealers keep the 2watt lamps,, well they do down here in the SW
