Hi, I have a 1992 320CE which has a bulb failure warning light constantly illuminated on the dash when the lights are switched on. I have checked and tested every bulb on the car for operation, wattage & voltage and all are OK. The warning light only appears when the lights are switched on - Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

Andrew

have you checked the number plate lights on the rear?. Ive found some poor quaility bulbs can still cause a problem and its usually on the rear light clusters.

All of the bulbs must be the correct wattage for the position that they are in

its down to current draw so the bulbs must be the right ones and the contacts must be ok. I've had the warning light on with dirty contacts before. Bulbs looked ok and lit up ok but they were a lot brighter once I'd cleaned the contacts - and the warning light stayed off.

aye im suffering the same problem , havent got round to sorting it yet , mine only comes on with lights on side or full which i guess suggests it has to be either the rear lights or number plate bulbs as the others are used either with lights off or just on one setting.

Sounds a bit like taking things to extreme, but I have found that there are no problems when bulbs are purchased from dealer compared to Halford bulbs.

If I remember, correctly its a matter of balance between the left and right hand sides of the car. So if you had mismatched, numberplate, sidelight or headlight bulbs then the failure indicator would show.

Cheers,

Richard
