I can't decide if to opt for the manufactures option to debadge my new e-class, purely to make the bodylines at the back look neater.

I know it's a personal choice, but what are general thoughts within the community about this process?

Many do this and why not, it gives a nice clean rear end look, mine came badge free

I like the no-badge look. Personal choice of course. :D

Debadging usually suggests you have a low-end model, in the range, but don't want to admit it.

For sale: 1 C350 badge - yours for £500 ;)

(kidding)

I admit, my car did come badged up, but I don't really like it & have thought about getting certain badges removed. Don't really care if that means people think I've got a "lesser" model, just means they get a lovely surprise...if I'm so in the mood lol.

I wonder if many people remove their AMG badges?

I certainly wouldn't de-badge an AMG - it's the top of the tree, loud and proud (especially the loud bit).

De-badged cars may show a turn of speed and command a bit of respect from the occasional traffic light burn up. Badged AMG's (and M Power, RS Audi cars) do it all the time, even when stationary.

Have it with badges and then if you don't like the look, take them off.....that's what I normally do (nine Mercs and counting!)

Exactly my point! If you have a top of the range badge you want everyone to know it. If you have a lesser car the, ahem, "clean" look suddenly becomes ever so important!

I've never debadged and never will. I did add a (prefectly legit) small tuner's badge to my last BMW as a sign to aficionados that the car was non-standard. But only BMW-geeks would know that.

With the CL500 it makes no difference badged or not as there is only the one engine offered

Each with a different badge? And obvious indicator as to the model variant, to the non initiated at least ;)

Behave the way that you want to :D,

from the rear the CL500 (the only one made) has 2 exhaust pipes, all of the AMG's have 4, so one would look pretty dumb to fit an AMG badge, there is no other badge for it other than the AMG's.
