Driving last nite coming off a roundabout I floored it and as the car kicked down I felt something give and now seemed to have lost all the torque - car feels flat and slow. No increase in temperature, no decrease in oil pressure, no smoke or any signs of anything ????
Help ?

Any ideas what it is ?

Torq convertor >? is there one. ? Gearbox ?

If you lose all torque but revs don't rise (no slip) and its shifting in and out of gear (not stuck in top), then it sounds like the gbox is ok but the engine isn't putting out enough power. Could it be that the ECU has panicked and gone into get you home mode?
Would explain why its running fine after a restart.

Poor old girl! Treat her gently ... Seriously you might check your gearbox oil level. The torque converter swallows up a huge amount of oil.

I drive two-footed and sometimes inadvertently press acc. and brake pedals simultaneously. When this happens the drivetrain is temporarily disabled for a few seconds only - I can press the throttle all I like, there's no response. Feels like wagging a finger at me - don't do that! It always recovers.

Saw Specialist. He topped the Tranny oil up and twiddled with something for 10 mins. He said it had over revved and upset itself, and then reset it when it cooled down
