Hi all
Little update on the strange problems (presumed it was low voltage, still could be, checked and passed a test but had a slightly low water level in cell, topped up) I've been having in the last week, drove to Kilkenny this morning, no problems hopped in the car, drove the 120km without a slow down, pulled into the smallest lane I've ever seen (mirrors folded of course, parktronic going mental, head out the window, passengers head out his window), hard left to car park. 6 hours later, system installed, exhausted, on my merry way back to car, took 30 mins to get her going (between key unlocking etc etc), left it running outside garage and ran for smokes, 100km, hit traffic on the outskirts, meandred home, parked, decided with the scare in kilkenny I needed a battery that was the cause, car dead, lights go on, doors opened, got the unlock of the key, nothing, wouldn't turn over, tried again, this time ignition wouldn't unlock, car wouldn't lock, radio & cd played, everything else lit up, but car won't lock.
So out came the trusty metal bit, lock car manually. Guy coming down tomorrow evening with "The Machine" after merc told me car had immobilized, he's gonna get key number and type and get me a new one, he reckons it's the key, little did I know he now works for merc and babysat my kids, how time flies, so I'm gonna be healthy tomorrow and walk.
I'll give you an update when I get new keys (only have 1 ordering another 2) and if that fails, look on the irish news for a bloke jumping off the east link bridge.
