Dead washer pump

The screen wash pump on our S-reg A160 has stopped working and I'm not sure if it needs replacing or is a symptom of a wider electrical problem.

There is no noise from the pump when trying to wash either front or rear screens. I've checked the fuse, which was OK.

The rear wiper is also behaving strangely. Nothing happens on pressing the dash-mounted rear wiper switch but the rear wiper now comes on every time the front wiper is activated. (They were completely independent before the wash wipe failed).

I'm hoping this is just a dud washer pump screwing up the electrics.

About to go and buy a multimeter to test this - I assume if it is the pump, I'll still get a voltage across its connector plug when trying to activate it. If I don't, I guess it will be the relay or something worse (so I'll need to visit the dealership)

Has anyone heard of this problem before and can advise on how to do a DIY fix? Also, can anyone recommend a supplier for the pump?

Many thanks

Stuart

euro car parts helped me with a pump...£20

take the old one with you as there are variations of the type of plug fitting.
