OK - will be buying a car this weekend.

got 2 lined up - both 1998 C-class models and both Sport models.

funilly enough they are both the same colour and both have about 70K on the clock.

both in great condition with history etc

Here is the choice

One is a C200 Sport and the other is a C240 sport

not much in the insurance - not that much difference in mpg

which is most reliable - what about service costs etc

PLEASE HELP

I like V6's  I have however noticed quite a lot of postings from members on this forum having issues with the 240 engine (and I'm not just counting Omni ;-) ). However I've not seen many issues on the 200, so we either have lots of 240 owners with problems or just very few 200 owners  .

I sold a idiots lantern to a guy here in Lyme last week, he had a 240 and when I admired it he said,****** thing keeps burning out coil packs, I think he said that he has got through 7, including the spare one he keeps in the car, the odd thing here is that there are many V6 129 on this forum, and I cant recall one with this problem. Omni has a new MAF and is over the moon now with his

That would be the 320 in the 129 and like you I don't see the threads. There must be something with the 240 . Unless it is by association with Omni :(
