Hi, anybody encountered or heard about this??? 2017 Actros MP4, Driving on Highway on cruise control, 90kmh, suddenly “depress brake” message is displayed, truck shifts into Neutral and eventually it stops, tried to put in Drive again but it keeps shifting to Neutral. Did this a couple of times and it started act normal again. This scenario started to happen daily and even after 2 hrs of driving and it keeps repeating from 10 to 20 minutes.
Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum. That’s going to be a hard question to answer on here as we are nearly all MB car owners. I haven’t looked but is there an Actros forum maybe that can nail your problem in one ? :)

If so the only way is a diagnostic to see if theres any codes relating to the cruise control. so many systems linked into the cruise to make it run properly.

I drive Mercedes lorries and have had that message come up too though its not stopped on me. The techs in the workshop will know as I forget what the cause is. I'll ask for you tonight if the right chap is on shift ;)
How many ks on it?

As your lorry is 2017 it will still be under warranty from Mercedes. As the technician has told me it sounds like a gearbox issue and best contact Mercedes Trucks.
It may just be a reset? Which would be better. They will be able to scan it though.

Same thing, doesn’t matter if I switch it off or not… or keep the accelerated pressed or even if drive on manual.

I want to mention, that after the”depress Brake” message is displayed 2-3 times, gearbox shifts to Neutral and if don’t select Neutral aswell on the shifter, the gearbox starts to shift gears erratically until I stop, then after a couple of seconds , it will start driving normal again, but this for a short period of time.

The 'De-press Brake' will come up as a warning that you will loose drive and advising you you slow to a stop. A reset by disconnecting the batteries for 10 minutes may cancel any stored issue that could have caused the problem, but more likely gearbox problem. Assuming this is the semi automatic box as they have a auto clutch. Try the battery disconnection first, failing any good result you will have to get the lorry scanned.
