Designer of the W124

Most times I get into my W124s I still marvel at its legendary build quality and indestructability. Does anyone know who we have to thank? Do we know who headed up the design and engineering team? He should have a star. Did he/she design anything else?

Bruno Sacco was Head of Design for over 20 years.

I think that his work was more external design rather than engineering though.

When you think about the W124, remember it is four cars, not one. Estate, saloon, coupe and cabrio. All different. All developed to the same standard

What I want to know is what was the development budget?
