Yes although it "meets" the spec it is not APPROVED. Its not on their special list of approved MB236.14 oils. However that doesn't particularly put me off. I've just bought 20 litres of it for £72 on ebay so I'm happy to be a guinea pig and let you know how well it works in my 20 year old 210 which is overdue an ATF change.
Having checked the viscosity in centistokes of all the approved 236.14 oils it's interesting to note that they fall in a very narrow band of viscosity (28-30 at 40C, and 6-7 at 100C) This dexron vi oil is slightly thinner - 25.5 at 40C and 5.5 at 100C. This may be beneficial to me as I do a lot of short journeys where the box is unlikely to get up to full operating temp.
