Diagnotsic machines

Argos have a couple of RAC branded code readers:

Has anyone used either of these with a W220 (54 plate - face lift with MOST rather than DB2). Are they worth the money? How good are they? Do they just do engine codes or will they read more complex stuff like COMAND, Brakes, Airbags etc?

Also been looking at this:

Anyone tried one of these? Are there any other suggestions for a reasonably priced diagnosatics machine? Ideally, it would also work with a Renault Scenic (sorry) so I can check the wife's car too.

None of theses readers will work on the car features,,some do work on engine and ABS systems but no more that that

Don't know if it will work on your model but I've used one of these on my SLK:

It's only good for reading and resetting error codes and resetting the service indicator though - doesn't access anything else on the bus.
