Diameter of pipe joining middle silencer

Does anyone know the Diameter of the pipe that has the Middle / Centre Silencer on on a 1991 190E 1.8 ?

Just I want to make it sound louder and I have asked the mechanics where I work and they said it would still pass an MOT even with the Middle silencer removed and replaced with some straight pipe.

So all I need to know is the diameter of the pipe so I can get some pipe slightly bigger to slide over the top and weld on :)
