What's everyones opinion on Diamond Brite treatments - are they worth £250, or am I better off buying the Autoglym products and doing it myself?

In a word no! It costs about £40 if that and it depends how it's done, either way it's a rip off. Just wash and polish it regularly.

If you have a few hundred quid spare, get one of the professional detailers to do your car.
Believe me, the car comes back as good as new.
Do it yourself and it will end up with micro scratches and trapped polish all over it.:p

The big problem is that it does not last that long on an every day car, and a car that is not used every day, you can keep clean

Thanks for the replies. I think I shall just stick with the Autoglym that I have been using and save the change to give to the Chancellor!

I have also had a quick look at the Detailing World Forum ( http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/index.php), but I need some more time to trawl through it (bit overwhelming at first glance!).

i use farcela g3 cutting compound on slightly dulled paintwork then use a good polish then seal it in with diamondbrite.
the finish is amazing and lasts for about 2 year.
ive used diamondbrite on several cars and had very good results everytime, just buy the genuine stuff and not the usual ebay rubbish.
diamondbrite is not really a polish it is a sealant so always polish the car before applying diamondbrite for best results.

Thanks, that's useful advice. I'm definately going to do it myself now.
