It's a w211 Elegance wheel.

There is one almost the same, the Algenib B6 647 1302

If it is genuine it will have the number cast in. I have all the wheel books here

Pick up the wheels today but a bit apprehensive as lots of ooohhh's and arrrrrs when I took them in.

I enquired about the diamond cut after sending across some pics just in case I changed my mind, they said no problem on the phone but when I arrived this changed to 'no can do'.

These folks were local to me http://www.pristinealloywheels.co.uk/

Pristine wheels used to do all of MB's wheels, but they stopped using them about 5 years ago. I had a set done there for my 129 and the clear diamond cut did not last very long

Just got back Malcolm,

They did a cracking job on the wheels, really first class but I had real problems when asked them to fit the wheels with the bolts supplied.

I explained that it needed the shorter bolts different radius ect but they said the bolt head wasn't long enough.

They suggested I stop at MB Kingston to get a technician to check it out, problem here is the bolts are not standard so they wouldn't know any better.

It drives fine and there's plenty of thread going through the hub but will pop one off tomorrow for a closer inspection just in case.

They look fine, I think it was more a case of the boss not wanting to lose face in front of his staff, he had already committed himself to saying there the wrong bolts -

What made me laff was him showing me they don't tighten up properly, ahhhmm....use a socket and not your fingers :D

Anyway, I signed a waiver and got therm fitted.

A diesel
They suit your car better than the W211 they were designed for.

I took the bolts out from one of the front wheels to make sure everything was ok.

Because the actual head is about half the size of the other bolts the socket moves around a fair bit - I think this is what the guys at the wheel shop may have been referring to?

I'll need to get a deep 17mm socket also as you need an extension to reach the bolt.

One thing I noticed on the inside of the wheel was the close proximity to the strut which connects the top swinging arm to the bottom hub part, sorry don't know the name of this but at a guess there's 6mm clearance?

I never looked at the older wheels but they must be the same unless the E42 (old were E41 I think from memory) offset makes a difference?

Some cars only get 2-3 mm of clearance, so no problem
