Please help before I give the car the Basil Faulty treatment!
I have a 2002 Vito 112 cdi. It has always run without fault until earlier this year when it started to become hard to start in the morning. It had to be turned over for 10 -15 seconds before starting. You could see air in the transparent fuel lines as the vehicle ran and air bubbles moving down fuel lines when the vehicle stopped.
I changed the fuel filter and it didn't really change that much, so I decided after looking at earlier postings to replace the fuel lines with the O rings to and from the filter, pump and common rail. I also replaced the seals in the pressure control valve at the end of the common rail.
I jump started the car down the road as it had the fuel lines empty, (save the poor starter motor!) The car started no problems. It drove, ticked over etc without a problem. Once I stop it however it will not start. Turning over no problem, but it wont fire up. If i decide to jump start it again it runs as soon as my foot comes off the clutch.
I have taken it all to pieces again and can see no obvious diesel leak of any evidence of air getting into the fuel lines (bubbles forming in the fuel line after it stops running).
Any help or advice would be gratefully received.
Ant.
