As said the tech overtakes common sense, have I got blue smoke, does it "breath" heavily when I remove the filler cap whilst running, is there any on the path etc, the sensor maybe faulty.
Then TV's blindingly obvious "how much did they put in".

Mercedes do not use 229.1 any more, and that can be bought cheaper now days

If you're referring to the image on the previous page, that was .51 - £25/gallon is pretty good.


I can look at oil level in the cluster display in my car (although I've no idea how accurate it is - there's no dipstick). If I fill it to max (6.5L) it'll drop fairly quickly to 6.2L but then drop much slower. I've seen it at 5.2L and it still hasn't asked for oil.
