Last week I posted here about recall software update which resulted in many faults to the car. MB Swansea refused to take any responsibility and they did their best to to blame something else in the car.

My car which was zero issue before the software update has been now broken down immediately after the update. The faults repair will cost around 5000£!! Which around 90% of the car market price.

MB center sent an email to the previous owner 4 months ago told him they don't do this update as it's known to cause further issues with the car.

Few days ago they sent me a letter for a mandatory recall for the same software update.

In the recall letter, they mentioned if the update result in a damage to a component part of the exhaust gas recirculation system, they will provide a repair free of charge.
The car was driving very well, no issues at all, kept well serviced and maintained. It's only 59000 miles.

MB Swansea has refused to take any part of responsibility for the faults resulted from the software update.

I can't find the best word to describe the worst experience with MB Swansea center.

Please , advise me know what I have to do?

Get the new recall done and if it goes pair shape let them deal with it. It may be to "fix" the issue they have caused.

And this is your first post.

I suspect the update has knackered the NoX sensors

It had no faults when it went in, they updated the software and the car experienced faults which they are denying was caused by the software. Have they said what the faults are and how they were caused in writing? I think I would be talking to a solicitor.

It seems your car has suffered a turbo failure. The impellor shaft has broken confirmed by using a borescope to into the rear of the turbocharger. (img 2 of your uploads, which I assume to be from the dealers invoice)

I would assume that debris from the turbo failure has been seen in the DPF which is why they are quoting for their replacement.

There is 2 lines of understanding here, firstly, that your update is not to blame for this failure, the turbo charger impellor has broken. Secondly there must be some debris in the Cat/DPF system which is why they have recommended their replacement. You do have to be careful with bits of broken turbo in the EGR system, if that sucks into the engine via the inlet manifold the engine will go bang.

There isn't much software to the turbocharger and I doubt any for emmisions related purposes. Thats mostly done by the fuel mapping. A bit unlucky here i would say.

Or it went in like that and the op is pulling a fast one ?

Well I like to think of the better nature of forumers than that...

Sometimes we all need a reason"why" failures or things happen and look for possible reasons. I think this is a case of that, but in reality, the dealer hasn't done anything wrong and the turbo failing is just one of those things.
