Bought my C207 350 cdi 265bhp on 21st May 2018 with 23,072 on the clock, today, I've just put £50.00 worth of diesel in, taking it up to £4,000 in 27 months, I've now done 43,307 miles, so thats approximately £148.00 a month or £35.00 a week. Personally I think that's OK, for such a big powerful car, and mostly pottering about, with the occasional long journey or good blast! :)

20p a mile is pretty good for mixed mileage I would be happy with that sounds like the car is averaging 30+ mpg in mixed use

Is it such a good idea to add up how much you spend on fuel ... ;)

At around £100 a tank I try not to look :D
To be honest I, don't really bother how much fuel I use, usually, (unless of course it was using something daft)
It was just something I started when I got it, more out of curiosity then anything, and just carried it on, every time I put fuel in, i just jot it down.:)

I don't consider that to be very good for a Diesel, my 2.0ltr petrol does more than that I know. Shame I can't give you a picture of the dash on that one, I cleared the info off of it the other day because the figures included the previous owners average consumption and I wanted it to be just my figures. :)

At the moment it shows 39.7 mpg but that is an unfair average as it is just over a week or so and I have done one trip of 220 mls within that calculation and probably only done 300/400 miles in that time. If 30+ mpg is all you can get out of a Diesel what is the point of having a Diesel ??:)

MrsLKs 2 litre turbo Mini Cooper S gets those kind of figures with mainly town and A road running and whilst not 265hp (180hp) it's also no slouch.

What’s @SmartAmg ’s mpg on that lot ?
Good question, Wighty.
Bearing in mind, diesel price fluctuation over 27 months,
so if you say, £6.00 a gallon
£4000 ÷ £6.00 a gallon = 666
gallons. 20,000 miles ÷ 666 gallons is just over 30 mpg
(I think) which to me ain't bad for a heavy 265bhp 3.0 litre V6 diesel (laterly 300bhp) on mostly pottering about, and I don't drive like a Nun, all in all pleased with that. :D

I get not much less than that with the V8s... (and one of them has 60hp more than you and only a 4 speed gearbox with no lockups!)

My 420 CDI (V8 diesel) has returned +/- 20p/ mile over the last 60K and that is not with a light right foot either.

Don't forget those calculations are approx as I don't know exactly what the price of diesel was, week to week, month to month, over the last 27 months, but still pleased with approximately 30 mpg overall, anyone with a V8 petrol/diesel getting the same or similar overall MPG, then fantastic! :)

I had a twin turbo Subaru Legacy many moons ago and if I tried I could get mpg into single figures.

I had the opportunity to drive one of those a few years back, what an impressive drive that car was :)
