interior light fault

The fault is that the interior lights will not come on when locking or unlocking the vehicle. Although the switches in the overhead control panel illuminate when the car is unlocked or a door is opened, and the overhead lights can be switched on manually. I have had to disconnect the overhead control panel as the fan inside was running all the time. The problem started when I had a flat battery last week. Have changed the battery and sourced a new overhead control panel but fan is still running and interior lights are not working automatically. Could it be due to the day light sensor fitted at the top of the windscreen as I believe this is connected to the overhead control panel, also the auto headlights are not working.

Thanks for replying, and any help would be appreciated.

Yes have tried re setting using steering wheel controls, does not make any difference. Part numbers are the same. does it have to be coded to the car?
